Atsushi Miyakoshi - the man behind Arts C Models. He founded the agency, he directs the agency, he literally IS the agency. In fact the name "Arts C" when pronounced by a Japanese person comes out like 'Atsushi' - AH-TSOO-SHEE. (Although when we western folk say Arts C it sounds like Artsy. Like "artsy fartsy". Which is kinda cool... a double pun of sorts.)
Atsushi has been at the center of Tokyo's modelling scene since the mid 80's, when the industry was just beginning to take-off. Prior to opening Arts C Models, he worked as manager of the prestigious Ford Models Japan agency for nearly 4 years until it closed operations in '93. After a brief stint as head booker for another well established Tokyo agency, dreams became reality on October 3, 1994.
Atsushi is a respected, honest, hard working Japanese man that simply wants to put together a first-class modelling agency. Nothing more, nothing less. He has impressive drive, remarkable enthusiam and a group of models that mirror these fine qualities with him.
I have known Atsushi even before he started Arts C's operations. Believe me, I'd love to tell you that his favourite color is blue, that he plays the piano, his choice designer is Armani, or that he even enjoys skydiving on Sundays... but I can't. I know Atsushi for the agency he represents, how he runs the show, and the fairness in which he does it. Nothing more, nothing less.
